INTERACTIVE STORY TELLING
BRINGING KIDS BOOKS TO LIFE
AN EXPLORATION INTO CHILDREN'S STORYTELLING
& TECHNOLOGY
Some of our favourite projects over the years have been those where we get to bring the imaginative characters from stories to life. Working closely with authors, illustrators & animators we create imaginative and exciting kids apps, bringing with it a new way for children to engage and learn as they play.

The case studys below showcase our different approaches to bringing stories to life, once using interactive book to explore and learn, the other utilising augmented reality to bring another level of immersion to the accompanying book.
ALEX ALLIGATOR & FRIENDS
Alex the alligator & friends is the latest kids story book from forward thinking author Sarah Moller. Reaching out to us, Sarah wanted to explore storytelling in a modern way.
Together, we explored how we could use modern AR frameworks like Google's ARCore and Apple’s ARkit to allow kids to learn and engage through the power of Augmented Reality.

The AR application gave kids an extension of the world of the Alex the Alligator books, allowing children to explore, interact and learn in a new and fun way. The Alex books focus on a younger audience, they encourage exploration of the alphabet and geography, teaching the reader new words as they explore the different countries and cultures each of the characters is from.

Our AR experience allows the player to explore each unique location further, find hidden characters, learn to repeat special words and interact with the environment.
The key to brining the characters from the book to life in AR was redesigning the beautiful illustrations into 3D visualisations. Once we had the characters modelled and animated, we optimised them for mobile in order to function across as many devices as possible.
